Swift 7 : Acer's Thinnest laptop Review and Specifications |
Reminding me of HP Spectre 13, Acer Swift 7 laptop is the newest addition to breathtaking laptop chassis group all Notebooks. It is indeed the World's thinnest laptop I have ever reviewed so far.Weighing around 2.5 Pounds, Super Thin, bright Screen, and solid battery life are some of the amazing features this laptop is packed with. Let us find out the detailed analysis of this slimmest laptop ever by Acer itself.
Design :
As stated earlier, it reminds me of HP Spectre 13. With a thickness of 9.98 millimeters, this is the laptop which is nearly 2 inches thick. The Laptop comes in two color variants Black and Silver outer panel, where0s the inner cabinet is all golden. I was so eager to open this black beauty but I managed to left some finger prints on the back panel. This was kind of disappointing for me. Although the golden hinges appear more luxurious and attractive but are very prone to breakage. The Acer logo is all painted into Golden color and sits right in the center of the back panel. Overall, the build quality of Swift 7 is very good and attractive.
Display :
Acer Swift 7 has a 13.3-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS display, with 16:9 aspect ratio. The screen is pretty bright and produces vivid colors. The pixel Density of the screen could have been enhanced with proper circuits. I enjoyed "Doctor Strange" thoroughly placing the brightness level to 60 percent. Various other Notebooks in this segment such as Dell XPS 13 and Apple MacBook Air perform little better. But complying to the price range, Acer has done a great justice to the Swift 7.
Performance :
Equipped with a 1.2-GHz Intel Core i5-7Y54 processor and 8GB of RAM, Acer Swift 7 is blazing fast like a goat. Did you like the Comparison? Huh !! Well, I do not say that Laptop is not a powerful CPU but it seems to do a fairly nice job but lacks the beauty of extremely powerful configuration machine. This is a low-tier processor which can be compared to Core-M mini chip. Please Do not expect to turn into an outrageous monster which can handle bitcoin problem-solving mechanism. Swift 7 is a sweet decent Google Chrome surfer machine.
Graphics :
Swift 7's Intel HD Graphics 615 GPU is capable of handling low-end graphics gaming. Yeah,when I say low-end it does not mean Battlefield 3. You can also enjoy making some multimedia designs and editing Picasa pictures with great detailing. Watching movies has been a great experience in our Last Laptop Lab.
Keyboard and Touchpad :
After uncovering the Acer Swift 7, the inbuilt keyboard comprises of 1.2 millimeters of key travel and 54 grams of actuation needed to press the keys.This may give an actual heart attack. I found myself cheated when I uncovered the back panel and entered into the real inventory area of the laptop. A sudden transition from luxury to mediocracy left me speechless. The Keyboard does not have Backlit and lacks the premium quality of pressing. It's a thumb down for me.
The Touchpad is slightly bigger than that of Macbook 13. A 5.4 x 2.5 is one of the widest touchpads I've ever seen. There is enough room of using full five fingers on the trackpad. You won't be disappointed as far as space of trackpad is concerned.
