We have been getting a lot of questions on our laptop forum regarding Dell XPS 15 9570 release date. Well, here is our reply. The new Dell XPS 15 was released in May 2018 and is an updated version of XPS 15 9560. We will soon perform a Dell XPS 15 9560 vs 9570 comparisons in our next blog post. Anyways, the new 9570 laptop is available in 8 different configurations on Dell official website and comes with a stunning infinity touch display. An optional Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 graphics update is also available for gamers who want an immersive gaming experience with Dell. Let us now dive into the XPS 15 9570 review.

Design:

At first, we were not sure that we were doing the Dell XPS 15 9570 review. The reason is the new model is almost like the previous version in terms of design. The laptop has a conventional aluminum body on the display lid and the bottom. There is a good use of carbon fiber material around the keyword which brings strength to the machine. The matte glass touchpad is a finger magnet which is not easy to clean.

The laptop requires two hands to open the display lid as the hinge is unusually tight. The screen can go up to 130 degrees which is fully sufficient to provide good viewing angles. The material used on the display is sturdy which help display not to wobble when carrying it around.

The webcam is awkwardly placed under the Dell logo. This may not be the best placement of a 720p camera on a laptop. We had to hold the laptop up to do a normal face to face video call. There is no shutter near the camera which we have seen in other laptops like Lenovo Carbon X1.

According to Dell’s official website, the new XPS 15 is one of the world’s lightest 15-inch performance class laptops. Weighing around 1.8 kg, the laptop has a sleek and compact design which ensures the high portability and efficiency.

Display:

The first thing you are going to notice is the infinity edge full 4K HD touchscreen display. The resolution of 1920x1080 pixels on a 15.6-inches display panel looks decent. Measuring in at 11-17mm width, this is certainly one of the slimmest display laptops. We did not find any blunt variation with compare to the XPS 9560 model. The display still looks good and produces natural colors when required. But in 2018, Dell was expected to come up with a very high-resolution display for the consumers. Even in smaller version such as Dell XPS 13, you get super crisp 4k Ultra HD OLED screen.

You can find the high-end configuration in the premium version of the laptop which are available at higher prices. Just to give a hint, you will get at least Intel Core i7, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX1050, 512 SSD, and a 4K touchscreen configuration.

Battery:

The new Dell XPS 15 9570 battery has 3-cell 56WHr integrated configuration. During our testing, we found out that the laptop lasts for 15.42 hours. This is the best battery life that any XPS has provided so far. To confirm the test, we performed the tested 2 times and got the same results. Anyways, Dell has focused on improving the battery performance for this laptop.

XPS 15 9570 takes 2.45 hours to fully charge the battery which is quite amazing. If you are looking for a long battery laptop as well as the one which charges fast, this is your best bet.

Speakers:

There are two integrated speakers placed in front of the laptop. Just like previous models, this laptop is equipped with MaxxAudio Pro. If you still get the standard 5.1 Channel high definition audio driver, you can download the MaxxAudio Pro application on Dell website.

XPS 15 9570 speakers produce balanced, loud enough sound quality which can be used to listen to music. We do not say that these are the best speakers on a laptop but will do the job efficiently. So far, we have not found any Ultrabook which can compete with Apple MacBook Pro. Apple laptops are super loud and very efficient in picking up low frequencies.

Keyboard and Trackpad:

There is no change in keyboard and trackpad and are exactly the same as the predecessors. The keys are well apart and respond well when pressed at edges. We did not encounter any annoying clicking sound during a typing test. The trackpad is big enough so that you can scroll all day long without any problem. The glassy finished trackpad is prone to fingerprints. During gaming, there was a slight increase in the temperature under the trackpad.

Summary:

This concludes our Dell XPS 15 9570 reviews. The laptop does not have a lot to offer in terms of design and outer look. But it has some battery enhancement, processor upgrade, and graphics improvements which can be felt during actual usage. So, in all, if you still own the earlier version of this laptop, you may upgrade if you want better display and graphics. But you are bored with the same look and feel, please find other notebooks in the same segment.
